Student Wellness and Support
If your child looks forward to going to school, there’s no limit to where they can go.
At Waynflete, we know trust is foundational to all learning. That’s why we begin each school year with fun, community-building activities that reconnect old friends and make new students feel right at home. Our small class sizes and low student-teacher ratio are designed to ensure that faculty teach individual students, not a class. And as Lower School students move through their days and around our campus, our close-knit community means they are called out to by name. Have good Buddies in other grades. And are held close not just by their teachers and classmates, but by former teachers as well.
This holistic and heartfelt approach to education continues throughout the school year, ensuring every student feels seen, supported, and safe enough to dive into deep and diverse learning experiences every day.
Learning Assistance
Because teachers spend so much time one-on-one with students, they may see early struggles with speech and language or identify behavioral issues that need additional support. If a student needs formal evaluation, we work with parents to provide trusted referrals for specialized services.
Healthy Lifestyles
How do we take care of our bodies? How do we take care of our minds? How do we take care of each other? Waynflete teachers explore these questions with children through science, social studies, physical education, interpersonal skills, and more.
Two Years of Togetherness
Young children yearn to feel close to trusted adults and connected to a wider community. Waynflete students spend two years with the same advisor so teachers can better know each child, customize their learning experiences, and develop a long-lasting connection.
